Mountain Dan is a local chain saw artist. He specializes in mountain bears, eagles, squirrels, frogs, Indians and can cut just about anything your imagination can come up with. Stop by and see his work and if your lucky, you could see him carving at Bear Tracks Travel Center.
Jim Crabtree, owner and potter at North Carolinas Greenhill pottery has many beautiful and fascinating items to sell at Bear Tracks Travel Center. Very unique and colorful Bowls, cups, vases, cookers and roasters. They would make a great gifts or a great addition to your kitchen or collection.
Bear Tracks is pleased to have some hand made woodworking items from a young local gentleman named Kyle Owen. He has some very nice bowls and furniture that would look great in your den or living room.
Velda Gibson is another special artist from Lake Toxaway. For the past 20 years, Velda has mastered the art of basket weaving. With a local flair, Velda has made baskets for just about any occasion you could think of and they are beautiful. Want to take a gift home made in lake Toxaway, this is it!
What about bees and honey? Well the bees from the Southern Appalachians make some of the best honey in the world. That’s right! It world famous sourwood honey and it’s made right here in Lake Toxaway North Carolina. It’s delicious!
