LAKE & SPINNER FISHING:

Stacy Adcock

Stacy Adcock

My name is Stacy Adcock and I am the local guide for Bear Tracks Adventures. I've had the joy for over 25 years to fish these beautiful waters. These crystal clear, deep, cool lakes here in WNC are absolutely breathtaking. The fish are fat and sassy not to mention gorgeous because of the water quality that we have. The whole experience of catching fish and making memories with friends and family is what we are all about. We will be fishing out of a tournament rigged 18 foot Ranger boat with a Yamaha VMAX 150. We have both Lownance and Garmin Electronics to help us find the big ones.

With 25 years local knowledge of these lakes, along with many days of tournament fishing under my belt I will assure you that we will have a great time on the water. I highly recommend that you bring a camera because the waters we fish are not only breathtaking but could very well give you the fishing memories of a lifetime. Feel free to take a look at some of our photos and see for yourself. We are here to teach you how to catch these fish because we believe in the saying... "give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he can eat for a lifetime".

FLY & SPINNER FISHING:

Brandon Galloway

Brandon Galloway

Hi, I am Brandon Galloway, I have lived in this area for most of my life and have fished and guided on most of the rivers and streams in Western North Carolina. From a very early age I have had a passion to fly fish for trout and have been very fortunate to continue this love of fishing and turn it into my work. I have been guiding fishing trips for 16 years through many of the fly fishing shops in Western North Carolina. I have been very fortunate to learn my trade from some of the well known anglers in the area like Bob Wolf, Dwight and Don Ray Howell.

I have learned the art of rod building and repair and have become a successful fly tyer with many of my flies being sold in local area fly shops. I have two beautiful children that I like spending time with when I’m not on the water, Sage age 5 and Ansel age one. I like the idea of guiding because I like to teach the young and old about the fish, their habitat, how to read the water, local trout water history and stream entomology. I spend a lot of time on the water, I have a passion for catching large trout in small streams. I guess you would call me a Brook Trout "Junkie" because of their beauty and for being our only native fish. Come go fishing with me and Bear Tracks Adventures and we will have a great time in the most beautiful mountains and streams in the world.

HUNTING & HIKING:

Steve Chapman

Steve Chapman, Naturalist and Outdoor Guide

Dear Bear Tracks Adventurers...I am very excited and pleased to be assisting Bear Tracks Adventures with Hiking and Outdoor Activities. What a privelege it will be to help introduce you to our beautiful area. As a native son of these mountains, with family roots many generations deep, I have been steeped in the lore and traditions of these hills. The native flora and fauna of the Southern Appalachians hold deep, sacred meaning to me. One of my greatest passions is to help introduce the true heart of these mountains to others. After studying natural resources managment at Western Carolina University completing many wildlife oriented workshops and courses through North Carolina State University's extension programs, I began working professionally as a naturalist and outdoor guide in 1991.

I was fortunate to serve as staff Naturalist and Parks Superintendent at Sapphire Lakes for 14 years. There I founded their respective hiking and fishing clubs, developed many miles of trail system, wildlife corridors, fisheries and habitat improvements and much more. Since then I have served as Director of Operations for Headwaters Outfitters, a river outfitter on the French Broad River as well as Head Trapper at Smoke Rise Field Club, a Sporting Clays Facility and have continued to operate my own hiking and outdoor guiding business continually since 1991. All of these experiences have been greatly rewarding and have fostered many cherished memories and relationships, all the while honing my intimate knowledge of these mountains. With great zeal and anticipation of days afield I look forward to seeing you on the trail!
